Wheat Ears – Selected Poems

We stood under the poplar shade

mass had just finished

people walked out of church

bees buzzing around hive

you noticed little flags

dancing to tune of breeze

I searched for your hand

our fingers joined

in the July heat

that weaved the net of love

under the blessing of the sun

in the completeness of the now

for our two hearts

that beat in rhythm
