Eagle
After the all-night feast wound down
and all stomachs were satisfied
sparrows woke up to claim their share
when the sun rose to caress its horizon
as he sat amid drunkenness with the
gouge of a deep wound
in his chest calling for attention
and said
lay me here by the fire
and take off my clothes
I want to feel his sharp talons
and suddenly an eagle flew above
cawing his victory over the serpent

Μετά τη συνεστίαση κι αφού
για αίμα η δίψα όλων είχε κορεστεί
σπουργίτες ξυπνήσαν για να πάρουν
μερτικό απ’ το κόκκινο
κι ο ήλιος σηκώθηκε
να χαϊδέψει τον ορίζοντα να χαϊδέψει
μα κείνος λουσμένος
στου μεθυσιου τη ζάλη
με μια βαθεια πληγη στο στέρνο
που απαιτούσε προσοχη
είπε
ξαπλώστε με εδω, σιμά στη φωτιά
τα αιχμηρά του νύχια να νιώσω θέλω
