He sauntered in the ancient grounds

sold to yellow haired tourists

took notice of the innumerable dead

under the soil and above it

hard to discern some from others

then he suddenly stopped

pointed to the busy agora

where everything was on sale

he made a certain gesture

as if erasing the whole image

a mistake from his school essay

saying  I want to plough

this ground all over and sow

the new crop of idealists

the ones standing motionless

inside these gleaming statues
