ΡΑΠΤΟΜΗΧΑΝΗ

Ο εγκέφαλος του σαν ραπτομηχανή

έρραψε ένα ρούχο απ’ τον ίσκιο του

που θα χρησιμοποιούσε για να τον σκεπάσει

και σαν μάγος ξαφνικά έσυρε το πανί

απ’ τη παλιά ξαχαρβαλωμένη ραπτομηχανή

και τίποτα δεν είχε απομείνει εκεί.

Ακόμα και σήμερα

εκεί δεν υπάρχει τίποτα.

Many people have argued that religious observance is a private endeavour and that it is unbecoming of anyone to insist their interpretation is the only one and that which the multitude must acquiesce to. And so in my continued serialization of the portions of Spinoza’s work that I think matter to us most, I will share what he writes on interpreting scripture

He writes, and I agree, that

Winter Poetry #2

Ο J.J. Cale έχει όλα τα χαρακτηριστικά αυτού που λέμε «μύθο» στη μουσική. Με 40 χρόνια προσφοράς στην πλάτη του, με ένα απόλυτα χαρακτηριστικό στιλ, χαμηλόφωνο και επιβλητικό, ακριβοθώρητος και cool, έχοντας περάσει τον καλλιτεχνικό του βίο με τους όρους του — έτσι, ως μύθος έφυγε στις 26 Ιουλίου 2013 από τη ζωή. Ο Clapton, οι Lynard Skynyrd, ο Santana, o Tom Petty έχουν παίξει μερικά από τα τραγούδια του κάνοντάς τα διάσημα. Ο ίδιος ο JJ απέφευγε το promotion και γενικά τα ενοχλητικά παρελκόμενα της showbiz. Ελάχιστες συνεντεύξεις, ελάχιστες φωτογραφίες (πόσοι, άραγε, θα τον αναγνώριζαν αν τον έβλεπαν στο δρόμο;) κι ένας χαλαρός ρυθμός παραγωγής δίσκων (με υπέροχα εξώφυλλα, χωρίς τη φωτογραφία του, κατά κανόνα), που σχεδόν αντανακλάται και στα ίδια του τα τραγούδια.
